Frequently asked questions
If you can't find your answer here, just message us on WhatsApp — we'd rather everything we say on the phone were written down.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in from 2 pm, check-out by noon. If you need an earlier or later time, just ask — when the house is free, we arrange it at no charge.
How is a booking confirmed? Is there a deposit?
Once dates and price are agreed on WhatsApp, a 25% deposit confirms your booking; the remaining 75% is paid at check-in. We send the payment details by message.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel 7 or more days before check-in and the deposit is refunded; for later cancellations it is not. For date changes we help subject to availability.
Do you accept pets?
We're sorry, but we can't accept pets. The houses are furnished with antique kilims, timber floors and pieces collected over many years, and we can't make exceptions without risking them. It isn't that we don't love animals — it's the houses. There are boarding kennels around Ayvacık and Assos, and we're happy to point you to one.
How are the houses heated in winter?
The Konak and the Daire have underfloor heating, which warms the stone from below and keeps the whole house at an even temperature even in the coldest months; the Konak also has a working fireplace. The Köy Evi is heated by its wood stove. All three are comfortable in every season. The Konak's pool is not heated — it is never closed, the water simply follows the season.
Who can use the pool?
The pool belongs to the Konak and is used only by its guests. It is not included with the Daire or the Köy Evi — and the rates reflect that. It is not heated, so the water follows the season; it is never closed, and you are welcome to swim whenever you like.
Is there internet / Wi-Fi?
There is no Wi-Fi in the houses. This is a place people come to disconnect; if you need a reliable connection, we'd rather you knew in advance.
Is there a minimum stay?
In high season (1 June – 31 August and public holidays) a minimum of three nights. Between 1 September and 31 May we accept single nights too, and from three nights the rate drops — further still at six nights or more.
How many guests can each house sleep?
Each house's capacity is listed on its own page. We cannot host above capacity; for infants, just let us know in advance.
Is there parking?
Free parking close to the houses inside the village. We send directions and the parking spot on WhatsApp before your arrival.
How is the price worked out?
Each house's page carries a current rate table. The nightly rate is for the whole house, not per person. In high season (1 June – 31 August and public holidays) there is a single rate and a three-night minimum; from 1 September the nightly rate drops the longer you stay. No commission, no service fee, no surprises — what you see is what you pay.
Where are the nearest shops and pharmacy?
There is a small grocer in the village; for a full shop, Ayvacık town centre is about 20 minutes by car. The pharmacy and health centre are also in Ayvacık.
House rules
Short and plain — for the sake of the houses and the village:
- No smoking inside the houses; the courtyard and garden are fine.
- No parties or loud music — this is a living village, and we have neighbours.
- Quiet hours after 11 pm.
- The antiques are yours to use; please handle the fragile pieces with care.
- Guests above capacity and unannounced visitors cannot be accepted.
